QR Menus and Table Ordering: A 15-Minute Setup Guide
QR menus are no longer a pandemic workaround. Guests are used to them, and they solve real problems: no reprinting menus when prices change, fewer trips back and forth to the table, and faster turnover at busy times.
What your guests can do
- Scan the code on the table and open your menu instantly, with no app to download.
- Browse photos, descriptions, options and add-ons.
- Place an order that arrives with the table number already attached.
- Tap Call Waiter when they need help or want the bill.
Setting it up in OrderPoint
- Add your menu. Create categories, add items with prices and photos, and set up variations (sizes) and add-ons (extras).
- Create your tables. Add each table number in your dashboard.
- Generate the codes. The Table QR Builder creates a unique QR code per table. Customise the colours and add your logo.
- Print and place them. Table tents, stickers or small acrylic stands all work. Test each code with your own phone.
- Turn on notifications. New orders and waiter calls appear in real time on your dashboard, so staff never miss a request.
Tips from the floor
- Print codes at least 3 cm wide and keep them away from glare.
- Add a short line under the code: "Scan to see the menu and order".
- Keep a few paper menus for guests who prefer them.
- Check your menu photos on a phone, because that's where guests will see them.
Table QR ordering is included in our Standard and Business plans. Compare plans.
